Design Engineer (Fire and Security) - Engineer who can Design or F&S Designer now?

- £35-42k for designing Fire and Security systems. Lovely company with great passion for customer service, large commercial sites and smaller designs to complete.

Location - Surrey, East Berkshire, North Hampshire, West Sussex, West London, or South London this could be for you... as office is in Surrey and sites in West M25 areas.

Overview - 

We are looking for an experienced Designer, Surveyor, Fire and Security Engineer or Design Engineer who can assist with the estimation and design of various fire and security systems.  You would be doing the Design work now (experience marking drawings and CAD preferred, but maybe an opportunity for a Security and Fire Engineer who likes design).

The candidate would ideally be from an engineering background (Alarms i.e. Fire Detection and or Intruder Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, etc) and actively working within this type of Fire and Security Engineer or Designer/ Estimator of Fire and Security systems role. We are looking for a candidate with experience on large commercial sites.

You would report directly to the Operations Manager and work to support both the existing client base and the new business teams, designing and specifying systems.

The company -

• specialise in the following high-end sectors; Hospitality, Education, Healthcare, Stadia and Leisure. The client base is spread across only a handful of key accounts, so the impetus is on quality of service, not quantity

The role - 

• will involve designing a wide range of systems from Fire Detection, Access Control, CCTV, Intruder Detection, Emergency Lighting, Fire Suppression (some of which you would have skills in and others would be learnt).
• The role suits someone with a technical background who can learn new systems and technology, in order to verify designs.
• You would have excellent PC, maths and literacy skills and would need to be highly organised and process-driven.
• The ideal candidate would already have some experience with producing professional written documentation, including equipment take-offs and technical proposals.  But if you have the technical skills and IT literacy for office work ... this can be learnt through training.

The role would be split between working at the offices in Surrey & surveys/ site work.
